James Courtenay

Chief Executive

James Courtenay has over 35 years’ experience working in Finance. He has spent most of his career in Leveraged Finance, where was a Managing Director in High Yield for Bankers Trust, before building and leading CIBC’s business in Europe.

He went on to become Global Head of High Yield and Leveraged Finance for ABN AMRO, leading some of the largest European bank and bond transactions in Europe and Asia.

Following ABN AMRO’s acquisition by NatWest, James moved to Standard Chartered Bank as Global Head of Advisory & Infrastructure Finance, before going on to manage all larger Corporate client relationships for the bank.

In 2017 to set up Heracles Capital Advisors, with the ambition to advise funds and corporates in Private Credit across developed and emerging markets.

He now manages his advisory mandates privately between France and the United Kingdom.
